The Hon. Dr. Khristinn Kellie Leitch is the Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Children’s Hospital of Mississippi and an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine. Her current pediatric orthopedic practice focuses on pediatric trauma and lower extremity reconstruction. In addition, she is an adjunct Professor at the University of Mississippi School of Business. At the Ole Miss Business School she is leads a course in health systems management.

Dr. Leitch was the Member of Parliament for Simcoe—Grey in the Canadian Parliament from 2011 to 2019. From 2013 – 2015 she served as Canada’s Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, as well as serving on the Treasury Board and Economic Committees of Cabinet within the Government of Canada.

Dr. Leitch earned her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Toronto in 1994 and her MBA from Dalhousie University in 1998. She completed her Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at University of Toronto and Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles/University of Southern California in 2001 and 2002 respectively.

In addition to her work as a surgeon and a professor, Dr. Leitch is a current Board member of the Dream Office REIT, which she is the Chair of the Governance Committee. She is the former Chair of the Ivey Centre for Health Innovation and Leadership at the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. She has served on the National Research Council of on Canada, Genome Canada as the Audit Committee Chair, the YMCA (Greater Toronto Area), and is the Founder of The Sandbox Project: a Canadian charity aimed at improving child and youth health in Canada. Dr. Leitch was selected as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 for her work in both medicine and business in 2005. In 2010, she received the Order of Ontario for her work advocating for children and youth.
