Limb Lengthening and Deformity Correction Specialist
Dr. Marie Gdalevitch completed both her medical and orthopedic surgery degrees at McGill University. Following her residency, Dr. Gdalevitch pursued her first fellowship in limb lengthening and deformity correction at the international center for limb lengthening in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Gdalevitch then embarked on her second fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and basic science research at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Gdalevitch works at Verdun hospital, a community hospital in Montreal, treating both children and adults in her areas of expertise. Her clinical practice is focused on limb lengthening and deformity correction, hip reconstruction/arthroscopy as well as foot and ankle surgery. Earlier in her practice, Dr. Gdalevitch developed the telescopic Free-Gliding (FG) SCFE screw, to improve the treatment of non-fusion techniques for patients with slipped capital femoral epiphysis. Dr. Gdalevitch is also one of the founders and past president of COLLA (Canadian Orthopedic Limb Lengthening association).
Dr. Gdalevitch research interests include: clinical research in percutaneous hallux valgus surgery, hip arthroscopy and limb lengthening and deformity correction.
In her spare time, Dr. Gdalevitch enjoys playing ice hockey in a women’ s league and spending time with her family.
