Knee Ankylosis is severe stiffening and abnormal adhesion of the knee joint. As the joint becomes more rigid, this condition significantly limits range of motion at the joint and is associated with pain and discomfort.

Knee Ankylosis may be the result of an injury, disease, or previous surgery of the knee. The amount of ankylosis can be variable (ie the amount of motion in the joint) and may be caused by inflammation of the fibrous tissues inside or outside the knee joint.
